Second-grader William Barton settled into the chair and began reading from Mercer Mayer's "Happy Easter, Little Critter" to the volunteer teacher's assistant in front of him. The Oak Elementary student read about the holiday picnic, the Easter candy and going to church as Judy Philabaum coaxed him along, asking questions, helping William with words and pointing out pictures on the page to help him understand the story.
