Primary care physicians should screen all adults, including older adults and pregnant women and new mothers, for depression, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommended on Tuesday.

The findings, published in JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association, update a previous recommendation on depression screening made in 2009. The recommendation applies to all adults 18 years and older.
