The Soviet Union’s Lunokhod 2 rover landed on the moon on Jan. 15, 1973.

NASA’s Opportunity rover may have touched down on Mars in 2004, but it still has plenty of drive left in it. In fact, the aged rover just took over the off-world driving record from the Soviet Union’s Lunokhod 2 rover after amassing 25 miles of driving on the Red Planet.
