Survey Shows Nearly Half The People Stricken With Alzheimer’s Disease Aren’t Being Told Their Prognosis

Would you want to know if you had Alzheimer’s Disease? Nearly half of doctors asked in a new survey by the Alzheimer’s Association report they don’t tell their patients the diagnosis for fear of putting too much emotional stress on them.

“A 1961 survey cited by the report found that nearly nine of 10 doctors made it a policy not to tell their patients they had cancer, often because they thought the patient would lose hope.”
