Accept no replicants, Ridley Scott is going after the real deal. Ryan Gosling—that elusive origami unicorn who hasn’t appeared in a feature film since 2013—is the front-runner to co-star in the long-awaited Blade Runner sequel. Gosling would join the film’s original star, Harrison Ford, who will be reprising his role as replicant gumshoe Rick Deckard. (It’s a big day for Ford reprising old roles.)
According to a press release, the as-yet unnamed sequel is set to start filming sometime next summer and and will cover a “story that takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 original.” Story details, as well as Gosling’s character, are not being revealed at this time.
