MALE (Reuters) - Supporters of jailed former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed held an underwater protest on Saturday to push for the release of the tropical archipelago's first democratically elected leader, after he was sentenced to 13 years in prison last month.

Around 100 divers, dressed in yellow "Free Nasheed" T-shirts, dived 3 meters (10 feet) off the coast of the capital city Male for a protest streamed live on the Internet.
