There's a supermoon lunar eclipse coming Sunday night, and it will be one of the most accessible sky-watching events of the year.

A lunar eclipse occurs when Earth's shadow falls on the moon, turning its usually silvery-white surface a dark, coppery red. This happens whenever Earth moves between the moon and the sun.
