This week, sky gazers in Inland Oregon and Portland will have the chance of witnessing the Leonid meteor showers. This shower will be witnessed from November 16 to 18 i. e. from Sunday morning through Tuesday. This shower will be reaching its height in the wee hours of Monday morning just after midnight on Sunday.
Jim Todd, planetarium manager at Portland's OMSI, stated that the annual Leonid Meteor shower is produced when the Earth passes close to the trails of cometary debris from Comet Temple-Tuttle.
