Sumner Redstone removes five Viacom directors

Sumner Redstone, the 93-year old media mogul who controls Viacom Inc. and CBS Corp., announced Thursday that he has removed five of Viacom directors from the company's board, including CEO Philippe Dauman.

Redstone owns National Amusements Inc., the privately-held theater chain company that controls 80% of Viacom's voting stock. The five members who were removed are Dauman, George Abrams, Blythe McGarvie, Frederic Salerno and William Schwartz.
