Study Warns of Potentially Carcinogenic Herbicide in Roundup

The popular weed killer Roundup is in the news again. This time the United Nation’s International Agency for Research on Cancer declares that the herbicide is “probably carcinogenic.” Previously the agency had declared that it was not carcinogenic.

What the IARC actually declares may be dangerous is the active ingredient in Roundup, a chemical called glyphosate, as well as the insecticides known as malathion and diazinon, and to a lesser extent tetrachlorvinphos and parathion.
