Study Shows American Life Expectancy

New research has divulged that life expectancy in the United States has reached a new all-time high of 78.8 years (when measured from birth). Experts suggest that improvement in this statistic can likely be attributed to reduction in death rates from major conditions like cancer, stroke, heart disease, and chronic lower respiratory tract diseases, as described in the report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In this report, researchers look at final data from both 2011 and 2012 to calculate life expectancy estimate, which they then age-adjusted according to race and ethnicity and sex as well as top 10 causes of death and the 10 leading causes of infant mortality.
