Study Says; Placenta Not a Sterile Zone

Research conducted at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston state that a diverse community of bacteria are present in the placenta of even a healthy pregnant woman which could play a major role as far as premature birth is concerned. Breaking the belief that foetuses grow in a sterile zone, this finding calls for more action and study.
