Study Removes Uncertainty Surrounding Zetia, Vytorin cholesterol drugs

Merck & Co.’s ezetimibe went up for sale from 2002. The drug sold by the name Zetia and Vytorin. Vytorin is a combination pill and both the drugs lower cholesterol in a completely different way. Like most cholesterol drugs, Zetia and Vytorin also had its own share of controversies. The drugs obtained FDA approval and some studies later suggested that the drug may not be very effective in lowering the risk of heart attack and stroke.

However, a recent study has helped to remove a cloud of uncertainty surrounding both the drugs.
