Study: Over 40 Percent Of Infants Who Died From SIDS Had Brain Abnormality

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – More than 40 percent of infants in a group who died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) were found to have an abnormality iun a key part of the brain, finds a new study.

Researchers, supported by the National Institutes of Health, discovered the abnormality was present more often in babies who died from SIDS than in babies whose deaths could be linked to other known causes.
