Study Links Tobacco and HPV, though Loosely

An odd new study associates tobacco use with increased risk for HPV infection—the oral human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16). This is the virus which could cause cancer of the mouth and/or throat.

Researchers at John Hopkins University made the correlation which basically just suggests that as few as three cigarettes per day can increase risk of HPV infection.
