Study Links Teenage Nut Consumption with Lower Heart Disease, Diabetes Risk

Nuts have for some time been considered one of the finest things a person can eat to promote general health and wellbeing, but a new study has for the first time drawn direct links between nut consumption during teenage years and long-term heart health. According to the team behind the project, eating a ‘modest’ portion of nuts on a weekly basis can help build much stronger defenses which could in turn ward off metabolic syndrome in later life.

Metabolic syndrome is a known trigger of type 2 diabetes and early heart disease.
