What's it like to snap front-page photographs of awards shows, political conventions and the Olympics? Long-time USA TODAY staff photographer Robert Hanashiro (@SptShtr_Bert) knows. And he's got plenty of stories. We brought him into the Straight Up Hollywood podcast studio to pick his brain about what it takes to shoot those events, and about the time his luggage was lost in Rio for nine days during the Olympics. And there was that time William Shatner refused to take a Star Trek photo with prop Tribbles (we did get one memorable shot).
Also on the podcast, movie reporter Bryan Alexander (@BryAlexand) tells entertainment writer Carly Mallenbaum (@ThatGirlCarly) what Al Pacino and Robert De Niro had to say at that hot screening of Heat, more than 20 years since the American classic crime thriller premiered.
