State says revenue from movie and television filming nearly doubled in 2013

The state won't have the official numbers crunched until this spring, but Gov. Pat Quinn's office is already touting an estimate of $358 million in TV and film revenues in 2013, a jump from 2012's $184 million.

The estimated revenue (meaning, money spent by TV and film projects in the state on services, local wages and the like) nearly doubled thanks to a record six TV series that shot in Chicago in the past year, including two Dick Wolf projects for NBC, “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD.”
