State attorney general wants smoking age raised from 18 to 21

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The state's top legal official will propose raising the smoking age from 18 to 21 at a special Wednesday news conference in Olympia.

A spokesman for Attorney General Bob Ferguson said he will back a bill that would raise the legal smoking age. The attorney general is scheduled to list his rationale for the proposal at a 2 p.m. press conference at the Legislative Building.
