Stanford Researchers invent multilayered coating material that can aid to cool down buildings

Researchers from the Stanford University have invented a new ultra-thin, multilayered coating material called nanophotonics that could help reduce the need for air-conditioning.

The material looks like conventional mirror and beams heat from buildings into space. It reflects visible light while also offloading infrared heat from inside the building into space. This allows radiative cooling to occur even during the day.
