Spending Bill Has Treat for Potato Lobby

The sweeping, $1.1 trillion bill currently contains language that for the first time will put “white potatoes” on the list of items that low-income families can buy with federal food vouchers, as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.
