Spacecraft carrying 2.4 tons of garbage from ISS receives Viking funeral

The final European Space Agency supply freighter for the International Space Station burned up upon re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere on February 15.

The Automated Transfer Vehicle 5 (also called the “Georges Lemaître”, after the Belgian astronomer whose work led to the Big Bang theory) was released from the ISS on February 14 after 186 days in space.
