Sound Off: How worried are you about Ebola?

I am deeply worried about our government’s response to this crisis, and I don’t trust the government to take appropriate precautions. Seeing the bumbling response in Texas to the first patient, including clueless nurses, leaving infected items in the apartment for four days and lax security at airlines, I hope that we are lucky since we aren’t prepared. All of those movies about deadly epidemics begin with the government saying “we have this under control, there is no need to worry.”

The blanket media coverage and widespread fear mongering have led to a near panic that the U.S. is in danger of an Ebola epidemic. The truth is that the Ebola tragedy is isolated in three West African countries and very unlikely to spread elsewhere in any significant numbers. The American responses,...
