Richard "Richie" Casey is in his final stages in life at Hilltop Hospice in New York, and he plans to live it like it's ending - because it is. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, or as he likes to call it, Somebody Up There Hates You Syndrome (SUTHY), Richie and fellow "hospice hostage" Sylvie fall in love and (most of the time) into trouble.

Being the teenagers they are, Richie and Sylvie seek what every teenager wants, especially those who are in love - privacy.
