Society's secretary-general remanded in custody for seven days

Manama, Dec. 30. (BNA)-- Bahrain attorney general Nayef Yousef Mahmoud announced that the Public Prosecution had today continued questioning Al-Wefaq secretary-general Ali Salman over charges relating to promoting political change using illegal forceful means and threats, incitement to non-compliance with the law, hatred to a category of people, and deliberate defamation of a statutory body.

He confirmed that the defendant's four lawyers had again attended today’s questioning and were able to meet with Ali Salman in private ahead of the session.
