SMN Weekly – Oregon Chub Removed from Endangered Species List Officially

This week, the Oregon chub has been removed from the list of endangered species officially. The population of this small fish was reduced to less than 1,000 but now it is said that the population has reached more than 140,000 in 80 locations.

On Feb 13, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced about the status of this fish population at the Finley National Wildlife Refuge near Corvallis, Oregon. The place is the primary habitat for Oregon chub.
