Smart insulin beats traditional insulin with 14 hours efficiency, says study

Scientists believe they might have found the next big breakthrough in medical technology. A team of scientists conducted a study which was published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences pointed out that a lab-produced insulin actually performed better in mice than the traditional rounds of insulin that were normally used. The findings of the study show that the ‘Smart’ insulin as it is being labeled has the ability to regulate the blood sugar levels within the living creature, rather than simply balance them. This comes as insulin injections have long been criticized due to the fact that they have adverse long-term impacts, for those who are forced to repeatedly inject.

The team noted that this would reduce the amount of insulin and injections that would be required for diabetics and would significantly reduce the challenge in combatting diabetes, as it becomes more, and more prevalent. Statistics show that diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases in the Uni...
