Sheila Kitzinger, pioneer of home birth, dies at 86

In the early 60’s and 70’s, natural childbirth guru, anthropologist and author Sheila Kitzinger came up with the idea of home births- a plan that aims to give pregnant women more choice when it comes to giving birth.

She had five children, all born at home naturally. Kitzinger believes that midwives played a crucial role in all of her successful home births.
