Ava DuVernay’s critically acclaimed ‘Selma’ was a big hit over the weekend, raking in over $15 million and John Legend and Common won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for “Glory“! Paramount is reporting ‘Selma’ was released at 2,179 locations and the film skewed mostly female 61% and 82% of the moviegoers were over 25 years-old. The film came in at #2 at the box office after ‘Taken’.
The film was produced by Brad Pitt, Oprah Winfrey and was directed by former publicist Ava DuVernay. ‘Selma’ has been nominated for 12 awards including 4 Golden Globes and the Oscar nominations are this Thursday so we hope they will be adding to that number!
