Scientists using Bacteria to produce Environment-Friendly Fuel

With the help of bacteria, researchers at Harvard University are trying to produce environment-friendly fuel. The technique is inspired from the way plants use photosynthesis, which allows plants to absorb sunlight and convert it into food and water they need to survive.

The researchers have put into use a particular type of bacteria to perform a similar action to absorb radiation and convert it to liquid fuel. A bionic leaf was previously created by Harvard professor Daniel Nocera and he has helped researchers use the same technology in a broader research project.
