Scientists use ultrasounds to help reverse Alzheimer’s symptoms in mice

A new treatment that breaks down the blood-brain barrier may prove effective at treating Alzheimer’s disease, early results using mice show.

Researchers from the Queensland Brain Institute in Australia looked at using ultrasound technology to remove amyloid-beta peptides, proteins which form amyloid plaques in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.
