Scientists Discover Traces of 8,000 Year Old Wheat

Wheat was first cultivated by human approximately 10,500 years ago. The first cultivations occurred in the Near East, which then spread slowly to the other regions of the world.

People in Eastern Europe started growing wheat about 8,000 to 9,000 years ago, making its way westward, crossing the English Channel some 6,000 years ago.
