Scientists Discover Mutation Gene That Lowers Cholesterol levels, Cuts Heart Disease Risk

A new study has discovered gene mutations that provide lower cholesterol levels and cut risks of heart disease to half.

Researchers found that people with mutations in a gene called NPC1L1 had LDL, bad cholesterol that was lower on average than others without a mutation. That is similar to how much cardiovascular drug by Merck & Co.'s Zetia lowers LDL.
