Scientists develop drug that can repair spinal cord injuries

US scientists, from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, in Ohio, have successfully developed a drug that can boost nerves in the spinal cord to grow and repair injuries. The study has been published in the journal Nature. This is the first time such a drug has been developed.

The study has shown that the drug, called intracellular sigma peptide (ISP,) helped restore movement and bladder control in rat.
