Scientists Determine New Way To Untangle Proteins By Unboiling An Egg

Scientist have recently discovered something odd but potentially quite useful. UCI Professor of chemistry and molecular biology and biochemistry Gregory Weiss puts it quite plainly: “Yes, we have invented a way to unboil a hen egg.”

Well, they weren’t really looking for it, but that is what they found. Despite the long-held belief that “unboiling” an egg is impossible, the team at the University of California-Irvine has developed a technique which refolds proteins, restoring them to their initial structure.
