Scientists Capture Three Massive Volcanic Eruptions on Io

An international team of scientists, using the W. M. Keck Observatory’s 10-meter Keck II telescope, the Gemini North telescope on Mauna Kea and the SpeX near-infrared spectrometer on NASA’s nearby Infrared Telescope Facility, captured stunning images of three huge eruptions on the Jupiter’s moon Io over a two-week period in August 2013.
