NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has come up with new findings after conducting research in the Alaskan waters on the subject of ocean acidification. Marine fisheries located in Alaska have been beneficial to the economy and also nutritionally. However, due to acidification in the oceans, changes in waters may cause decline in the income and employment opportunities for fisheries as it will affect marine life adversely.

Ocean acidification refers to the acidic nature of the waters that result due to release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is caused due to human sources.
