San Francisco moving closer to banning chewing tobacco at ballparks

There is an ongoing debate about MLB potentially banning chewing tobacco among its players and other on-field personnel. On one hand, it's a personal choice. On the other, it's pretty gross, causes cancer, and is not something parents want their kids to see when they turn on a ballgame.

Baseball has already eliminated the use of chewing tobacco in the minors and placed restrictions on its use at the MLB level -- cans can not be seen in the dugout, for example -- but the city of San Francisco is moving closer to passing an ordinance banning smokeless tobacco at all city athletic fie...
