Locally produced South Beach On Heels, a film about the popular drag stars at the Palace Bar on Ocean Drive, won best documentary on Sunday at closing night of the sixth annual Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
Producer-director Dmitry Zhitov of Miami accepted the award at the party, held at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel, which provided a buffet supper for closing night guests. Bacardi and Grey Goose supplied drinks.
