In one of the year’s great anti-climaxes, NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack just announced a twofold move to resolve a controversy at the network stretching back to February: Brian Williams, the NBC News star serving a six-month suspension for embellishing stories about his past, will move to MSNBC in a “new role anchoring breaking news” and Lester Holt will move into a permanent role as anchor of “NBC Nightly News,” a position he has held on an interim basis since Williams’s suspension.
