Russell Brand has pulled out of the South by Southwest Film Festival screening of a documentary chronicling his struggles with fame. The poetic comedian, who has famously battled with addictions to drugs and alcohol, was scheduled to attend the world premiere of film BRAND: A Second Coming but revealed he wouldn’t be able to watch his life back for fears it would be too “painful and sad”.

The film deals with the bizarre notion of fame with Russell as its guinea pig. Met with huge acclaim, the docu-movie is set to have its world premiere in Austin Texas, but will be one quirky cat short.
