Routine heart scans not beneficial for diabetics, says a new study

A new study suggests that routine heart scans are not effective for diabetics who have no symptoms but are at a high risk of a heart attack. Researchers have published the findings of the study in the Journal of the American Medical Association on Nov 17, to coincide with a presentation of the study at the American Heart Association annual meeting in Chicago.

It was found that regular screenings do not help prevent heart attacks or help patients avoid getting hospitalized for unstable angina.
