Rosetta sees its shadow atop Comet 67P

The European Space Agency (ESA) recently disclosed its best image of the comet 67P, a picture snapped off by the Rosetta probe when it made its flyby on February 14 – just a mere 3.12 miles distance away from the icy comet.

This is the clearest image to be delivered of Comet 67P so far, which for extra detail shows the shadow of the satellite. To capture it, the Rosetta moved in between the sun and Comet 67P and was still close enough to cause the sun to cast the probe’s shadow.
