‘Rogue pharmacist’ stole 200,000 oxycodone pills worth nearly $5.6M from Beth Israel: prosecutor

The New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor's Office says Anthony D'Alessandro started small, filching between 100 and 500 pills at a time. By January 2014, he was taking 1,500 in a single day, prosecutors contend.

A "rogue pharmacist" who ran the drug dispensary at the old Beth Israel Medical Center was busted Tuesday for stealing nearly 200,000 oxycodone pills, which are worth nearly $5.6 million on the black market.
