Rocks at Bottom of Sea, Home to Methane, Consuming Microbes: New Study

A new study suggests that natural Methane seeps into rocks present deep under the world's oceans on the seafloor and these rocks then become the home to the methane-munching microbes.

The surprising part that researchers have found is that these tiny rock-dwellers eat up on such a quantity of methane which is sufficient enough to alter the global levels of the gas, thereby contributing to climate change.
