Risks of taking aspirin for cardiovascular health may outweigh its benefits

Medical doctors prescribe aspirin as an analgesic anti-inflammatory drug for headaches, pains, and cardiovascular diseases, but a new study has emerged to suggest that a majority of patients taking aspirin for cardiovascular health do not really need the medication – and continued use may constitute serious side-effects.

“Aspirin is not a medication that comes without risks,” said lead researcher Dr. Riva Hira, a cardiologist with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
