Rise in Shelter Costs and Energy Prices Lift US Consumer Prices

Due to the rising prices of petrol and costs for shelter, consumer prices in the United States has increased for the second consecutive month in March. This is a sign of a slight degree of inflation which means that the Federal Reserve should be increasing interest rates anytime soon.

The energy price decrease has almost reached its end although the effects can still be felt right now. The US Central Bank viewed that one of these effects is that inflation would only reach up to 2 percent. The increase of consumer prices in March proved that to be less plausible.
