According to Rhode Island's Department of Health, cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are increasing at an alarming rate in the state. Growth rate of syphilis sought a jump of 79% between 2013 and 2014. Rise in HIV infections surged by 33% and gonorrhea cases rose by 30%.
