A Resident of Mendocino County is infected with West Nile Virus

Reports have confirmed that a resident of Mendocino County has contracted West Nile Virus. This is the first case since 2008. Mendocino County Health and Human Services says that the affected resident is recovering now.

West Nile Virus is transmitted through a mosquito’s bit. Humans as well as animals can be affected by it. The infected humans or animals may become intensely ill or show no symptoms of illness at all.
