Researchers propose autonomous drone to aid rovers in exploring Mars

Researchers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena California are working on a technology which has been specifically designed to find signs of life on Mars. Rover teams examining the Martian surface still face issue on Red Planet's uneven surface, ridges and valleys. As a result, their navigation on the terrain becomes difficult.

The new solution to this problem is the Mars Helicopter, which is an autonomous drone that could triple the distances that Mars rovers can drive in a Martian day.
